Pork belly ssam (wrap)

Roasted Pork belly ssam

About The Recipe

Embark on a culinary adventure with this Pork Belly Ssam recipe, a beloved Korean dish that is as much about the flavors as it is about the experience of eating it. Ssam, meaning "wrap" in Korean, involves wrapping a piece of flavorful meat in a leafy vegetable, usually lettuce, along with a variety of condiments. This recipe features succulent slices of pork belly that are cooked until they are tender and full of flavor. The meat is then served with crisp lettuce leaves, a range of fresh vegetables, and a savory dipping sauce. Each diner assembles their own ssam, creating a wrap that is customized to their taste. The pork belly provides a rich, meaty flavor that is balanced by the freshness of the vegetables, while the dipping sauce adds depth and complexity to the dish.
